CHRISDEFORCE: Just Get Up and Do It.

CHRISDEFORCE is a recording artist from Cleveland, Ohio. He recently dropped “GO MODE”. This is his 3rd project in 2021 but, guaranteed to be the most creative so far. The premise of “GO MODE” is to be the spark that ignites movement so just, getting up and doing it, “No more waiting”. Just overall being “ON GO” for whatever goal you are trying to accomplish. Since this project did, early on, unfortunately, get scrapped; Chris had to start fresh and really put the phrase into action. He turned on “GO MODE” and got to work. It’s a good energy he’s giving off with this one but, it’s still a “stand strong” type of energy. When you have the green light in your head, nobody can stop your G-O or momentum. As people listen and enjoy the music, Chris hopes that they all get a little bit of that spark. Credits to all the producers and creators who contributed to the project: Producers: 14WRLDWD, Warcrimeboys, Doobiebeatz, WhosRese, CCC, Bryjk, CHRISDEFORCE.

The tape itself is very masterfully crafted. Chris bounces through different flows and seamlessly pulls from many influences in hip hop. From styles similar to someone Playboi Carti or Famous Dex, as well as, Lil Wayne and more classic sounds. That being said, Chris has made a sound all for himself. Music with a psychedelic unsettling mixture that creates a sense of clarity in bliss in every mix. The instrumentals are all unique in their own right while all fitting into the hard hitting distorted mold that the tape creates in it’s entirety. Without a doubt a top tier tape from the undergound. It’s worth every minute of your time. Keep your eye on this man.

LEECH: Getting Dragged Through the Mud.

LEECH is a talented individual from his self proclaimed “SWAMP”. He lives and breathes his art inside of a home with one of his best friends creating anything from clothes, videos, and music. The young man proved his talents on his 2019 tape “Underbite”, where he provided a mix of emotions and instrumentals. Recently, LEECH has been hyping up his newest effort, “SUCKER”. In this process he blessed us with a new single entitled “DRAG ME (feat. banzai florist)”. There is just so much good to talk about with this song alone but, the main thing that needs to be said is that, we cannot wait for “SUCKER”! The track opens with a beautiful melody from banzai florist as a synth bass line carries you to the energetic drum line. LEECH provides a strong, powerful, and unique performance for the entirety of the song. The instrumental becomes more and more intense and hectic as LEECH and banzai pour their hearts out more and more. This song was a breathe of fresh air and we really cannot wait for more.

RaineMoe: Another Crazy Crisp Release From A Familiar Face.

RaineMoe is an artist we’re definitely not sleeping on. Early last year, he introduced himself to us with infectious club grooves. RaineMoe always provides a quality polished sound that smacks you in the face. His newest track, “Guess”, is no exception to this quality. Raine comes in with clean vocal takes the entire time and clever bars with catchy flows. The beat itself reminds us of something you would hear from primetime Drake era. Atmospheric bass lines and a hard hitting 808 perfectly laid on top of it. As soon as the horns pierce through the mix, you get the full scope of the groove and it’s honestly hard not to start dancing. Raine has out done himself once again and to be honest this man has shown more growth than a lot of the artists we’ve been watching. He has really honed in on his own lyrical content as well as fitting all of it onto whatever instrumental is thrown his way. That being said, it would be very cool to see what Raine will do in the future and how he will experiment with his future work. He’s playing it safe and it’s paying off well so more power to him but, we just can’t help but wonder how this young man’s sound will continue to evolve from the club scene pocket he’s been sitting in. None the less, RaineMoe makes songs that almost anyone will fall in love with and we cannot recommend him enough.

dreamgoth: This EP is A Spectacular Showcase of Creativity and Talent.

damien grey is a brand new EP by Texas born non-binary producer Marshal Spaulding, under the alias of their dream-like and often nightmare-ish persona dreamgoth. This EP takes a step in a different direction for dreamgoth and has long been the quieter part of Marshal’s many projects. Named after the alias that Marshal had originally planned to release this music under, damien grey is a journey of swirling guitars, washes of vocal layers, and psychedelic soundscapes. Taking inspiration from Marshal’s love for genres like dreampop and shoegaze, and a lifelong unadmitted desire to make pop music, this EP is truly the first of its kind in dreamgoth’s official catalog. Featuring four songs written and performed by Marshal, recorded in their bedroom and tirelessly tweaked and kneaded for nearly a year. The six months after, they were able to spend time with Matt Parmenter at the Ice Cream Factory in Austin, TX,  re-recording vocals, as well as, guitars, and laying down the final mixes of the songs. The EP was given its final touches, but a manic urge took Marshal into a search through their catalog to find songs written beside the four on the EP in late 2019.

After digging up and polishing three bonus tracks, dreamgoth still wasn’t satisfied and added even more extra bonus tracks bringing the extended EP to 11 songs but, only when you buy the limited CD run will you get to hear all 11 tracks. damien grey features performances by Jasamine White-Gluz of shoegaze legends No Joy, and Jonathan Gomez as Mountain Body, as well as, a song written and recorded by the magical Andrea Cortez. We couldn’t recommend this EP more. One of the most emotional and impactful rides of the year. Marshal proves their high level artistry with layered progressions and all around versatility inside of the sound itself. No matter if you listen to what’s available on the internet or order the CD, we believe almost everyone will enjoy a piece of this polished sound.
