BELLFLOWER is an up and coming group from San Diego. We came across them when one of their members, Peach, sent us their song CAST. We were intrigued by the experimental flows and strange song structure. Peach continued to explain to us this was a single for a record that was releasing Friday so, we had to take a set back and wait until this project was fully in front of us. Now, it is and let me tell you, its spectacular.
From what we can tell, BELLFLOWER runs about 10-12 people deep. This caused the tape to cycle through a lot of sounds and voices. At the end of the day, this Tape gives off a villainous vibe with the experimental production and atmospheric mix on the vocals throughout. These instrumentals are one of a kind with lots of variation and switch ups that, set them apart from almost all hip hop in existence now. As you continue to listen and make it to past CAST to AK-47, Their inspirations become more apparent. It seems that BELLFLOWER is inspired by modern trap rappers like Famous Dex as well as, more conscious meaningful groups and artist such as, Tyler, The Creator or Brockhampton. Their influences shine through in a way that is unique to them and this is noticeable by anyone listening. You can listen to their brand new tape FAIR WARNING below, you wont be disaapointed.
