Roy Rutto: Villainous Flows with Distorted Trap Flavor

Roy Rutto is unarguably one of the best rappers to submit music to our platform. His style, image, and sound, all mesh together to form a sonic, well polished, and consistent sound. Though, Roy’s sound may be consistent and his style villainous but, he has variety in the instrumentals hes capable with and the themes he can talk about. Roy Rutto seems to be a man that anyone can easily relate to and get behind.

We wanted to focus on Roy’s song with Lil T: No Hobbie. We would like to talk about this song because Roy also produced this beat himself. The beat opens with heavy deep synth brass playing a slow melody. After, piano melodies flood in filling out the track and making not only full but, evil. Soon after, we hear the catchy drum rhythms and heavy vocals delivered by Lil T and Roy himself. They explore the idea of “minding your own business or getting smacked”. We would reccomend this song to any hip hop head. Roy is easily digestible with a new, fresh sound, at the same time.
