Daydream is a new band on the scene trying to make a name for themselves. Their story began with the ending of another. In late 2018, Big Parade parted ways as a duo. Daydream was formed from Ricardo Saucedo, one half of Big Parade, and Karla Jaramillo, a frequent collaborator with Big Parade. They spent the next year creating and recording 14 songs that debuted as their first album entitled, “Up”. This album runs a little over an our with an overall beautiful and melodic sound. One of my favorite tracks is “Beautiful Mistake”. It’s this atmospheric whirlwind of emotion and beauty. An acoustic recording plays alongside a synth and a Rhodes type sounding piano. The acoustic sounds like it’s bouncing off the walls in your room with this spacious and intoxicating mix. Along with the vocals, this song sounds like you’re laying in the middle of a house show and everything is silent. This entire album is this droned and drugged sound. It sounds like coming home after a long night of drinking and heartbreak. Daydream is someone to watch out for because their music can be minimalistic and powerful or intricate and deep. Without a doubt, they will have next level song writing and a lot lot of creative expression.
