King Madi drops new album “Ashton”
King Madi has just released his highly-awaited project “Ashton”. The album which was named after Madi’s real name, also serves as his first project of the year.
The album, which features various artists like Type1ne, Chethelyricist, KC Karma and more, sees King Madi take a more personal approach. “Ashton” is an embodiment of King Madi. On tracks like “Clockwork”, King Madi talks about a time he was sexually assaulted by someone he considered a friend. He delivers this track from a third person point-of-view. He uses this track to create a space for people who have gone through such and to provide a form of comfort. On other tracks like “Don’t Look at the Clock”, Madi talks about taking a risk and finally sharing his stories to the world.
This 15-track tape, not only shows a rawer, more vulnerable side of King Madi, but also evokes a flurry of emotions from listeners. King Madi’s artistic growth cannot be ignored on “Ashton”.
